Calls for submissions on Ash Dieback policy

All Ireland Chalara Control Strategy July 13

Reconstitution Scheme (Chalara) Scheme 2014 – 2020

Since the first finding of Chalara or Ash Dieback disease in 2012 there are now over 560 plantations that have been confirmed with the disease in addition to other findings in nurseries, roadsides, gardens, farms and hedgerows.

It is timely now to take stock on where we are with the disease, to consider the latest science and the approach of other Countries where the disease has been present for a longer period, what is best practice, what is best for Ireland and to review the current supports we offer.

The Department is embarking on a consultation process in relation to the Reconstitution Scheme and the All Ireland Chalara Control Strategy (2013) and you are invited to make a submission to the following email address  before May 18th.  A meeting of stakeholders was held on 12th April and presentations that were delivered at that meeting are outlined below along with other relevant documentation.
