Regulations for Labelling Organic Food Produce
Article 22 of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 (pdf 193Kb) as amended (i.e. Regulation on Organic Farming) provides for the labelling of organic food produce for human consumption. Article 10 of this Regulation provides for the use of a non-compulsory European 'organic' logo where the product fulfils the conditions of the Regulation.
Labelling and advertising of food produce may refer to organic production methods only where it is made clear that the information relates to a method of organic agricultural production and the product concerned complies with the provisions of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 as amended.
